What is this type of insurance?

Accidental Damage and mechanical and electrical Breakdown cover. This is an insurance policy providing repair or replacement to Your Item in the event that it is accidentally damaged or breaks down after the expiry of the manufacturer's warranty period.

What is insured?

The Following events are insured for Your Item for which You have purchased the insurance:

  • Accidental Damage caused by drop; fall; impact; liquid and power surge (High Voltage and Lightning)
  • Mechanical and electrical breakdown occurring after the expiration of the manufacturer's warranty

You can claim

  • For Accidental Damage: from the date of purchase of Your policy.
  • For mechanical and electrical Breakdown events: after the expiry of the manufacturer's warranty. Please check with the manufacturer for the duration of the warranty.

In the event of a claim

  • We will at our discretion repair your item.
  • Where the issue cannot be resolved with a repair we will replace the Item with the same make and model, or one of equivalent specification.

Worldwide Cover

  • This policy covers the Item whilst travelling abroad.
What is not insured?

Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for an exhaustive list of exclusions that are not covered by the insurance cover.
The main exclusions are:

  • Accidental Damage caused by Fire, Vandalism, Explosion.
  • Cosmetic damage.
  • Accessories.
  • Consumable parts.
  • Commercial use.
  • Gross negligence.
  • All damages due to loss of battery capacity.
  • Any event arising from software and operating system's faults or changes.
  • Any breakdown of the Item if the type of fault would not have been covered under the manufacturer's warranty.
  • Use of the Item for commercial or other non-Domestic use.
  • Wear and tear.
  • Pre-existing damage or fault with Your Item.
  • Theft and Loss.
Are there restrictions on cover?
  • You must be aged 18 years or older.
  • The United Kingdom must be and remain Your country of residence.
  • The Item must be purchased by You.
  • You must not be aware of any existing damage to or other fault with Your Product when purchasing the cover.
  • Only incur a repair cost, transportation costs, or replacement costs once You have Our authority to do so.
Where am I covered?
  • The insurance policy is only valid for Items purchased in Your Country of Residence.
  • Your Item is insured while You are abroad for trips not exceeding 90 consecutive days. The Item will only be repaired once it is back in the UK.
What are my obligations?
  • To prevent the policy being cancelled or voided and/or claims being reduced or refused, You must:
  • When taking out this policy:
    • Provide Us with complete and accurate information.
  • Once the policy is in effect:
    • For the period of the insurance cover, You must, to the best of Your ability, keep the Item in good working order, and take reasonable care to prevent or minimise the risk of Accidental Damage.
  • In the event of a claim:
    • Provide Us with complete and accurate information, including Proof of Purchase, when claiming. If the Item becomes damaged or destroyed during the term of the insurance agreement, You must report Your claim as soon as possible so that the Item can be repaired, retrieved and does not deteriorate further.
When and how do I pay?

Payment of the full premium is due at the time of purchasing the insurance policy.

Payments can be made by debit or credit card.

When does the cover start and end?
  • The Policy Start Date is stated in the Certificate of insurance that forms part of Your insurance policy.
  • Your cover for Accidental Damage starts on the Policy Start Date.
  • Your cover for Breakdown will start following the expiry of the manufacturer's warranty period.
  • Your policy will end on any of the following events:
    • Your policy expires at the Policy Expiry Date shown on your Certificate of Insurance.
    • You return the item to the retailer in accordance with its returns policy.
    • Your item is recalled or replaced by the retailer.
    • Your claim has been settled with a replacement.
    • You are no longer a resident of the United Kingdom.
    • You are deceased.
    • You modify the item.
    • The insurer cancels the policy.
How do I cancel the contract?
  • You have 60 days from the purchase of this insurance policy to cancel Your policy and receive a full refund, provided no valid claims have been made or will be made.
  • After the 60-day cooling-off period You can cancel Your policy at any time and, if You have not made a claim, You will receive a pro-rata refund of the premium based on the number of full months of cover remaining on the Period of Cover. If You have made a claim under Your policy, You will receive a pro-rata refund based on the number of full months remaining minus any amount We have paid You for a valid claim.
